Album

Their Satanic Majesties Request is a studio album by the English rock band the Rolling Stones, released in December 1967 by Decca Records in the UK and by London Records in the US. It is their sixth British and eighth American studio album, and their first to be released in identical versions in both countries. The album's title is a play on the Her Britannic Majesty requests and requires. text that appears inside a British passport. Their Satanic Majesties Request, despite moments of unquestionable brilliance, put the status of the Rolling Stones in jeopardy. With it, the Stones abandon their capacity to lead in order to impress the impressionable. They have been far too influenced by their musical inferiors and the result is an insecure album in which they try too hard to prove that they too are innovators, and that they too can say something new. The album is marred by poor production. In the past there has been a great gulf between production styles of the Beatles and the Stones. Their Satanic Majesties Request - The Rolling Stones. Золотая эра детей цветов, повальное увлечение рок-богемы восточной философией, поиск мистических, тёмных сторон жизни сквозь призму галлюциногенных препаратов всё это нашло своё отражение на этой. Listening today, how well the Rolling Stones intend Their Satanic Majesties Request to be a spoof of Sgt. Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band or was it a sincere attempt to siphon some of the magic of the Beatles masterpiece This question has hung over Satanic Majesties ever since its release in late 1967, perhaps due to the persistence of the perception that the two groups are locked in a deathless rivalry, or maybe just because their album artwork is so similar-not entirely surprising, considering how both ornate cover images are based on photographs snapped by Michael Cooper. Released on December 8th, 1967, Their Satanic Majesties Request represents the bands attempt at psychedelia following Mick and Keiths infamous Redlands trial. The title is a play on the text that appears inside a British passport: Her Britannic Majesty requests and requires The album is rarely regarded as a favorite among fans, critics, and the band. Mick Jagger says that The Satanic Majesties Request is the worst Rolling Stones album to be released. Keith Richards also condemned the album as rubbish as well as The Beatles' critically acclaimed Psychedelic Album released earlier in the year which some say the Rolling Stones ripped off in Satanic Majesties
