Tous les matins du monde by Nicolas Kaviani Performer: Juraj Nociar Tenor, Martina Králiková Soprano, Barbora Polášková Alto, Jiří Přibyl Baritone, Karel Martinek Organ Conductor: Petr Vronsky, Jiri Petrdlik. By Nicolas Kaviani. The Te Deum is a Latin Christian hymn written in 387 A. It is central to the Ambrosian hymnal, which spread throughout the Latin Church with other parts of the Milanese Rite in the 6th to 8th centuries, and it is sometimes known as the Ambrosian Hymn although authorship by Saint Ambrose is unlikely. The term Te Deum can also refer to a short religious service of blessing or thanks based upon the hymn. Kaviani's Te Deum, performed by the Moravian Philharmonic Orchestra and the Janácek Opera Choir, conducted by Petr Vronský, is a secular work which uses the original Latin text of the Christian hymn of praise and presents it through the lens of modernity. The piece in many ways exemplifies the composer's humanistic, emotionally-driven approach in an invigorating celebration of art, life, and the forces beyond our own selves. A more recent work, Tous les matins du monde, written almost 10 years after the Te Deum, shows Kaviani as he is now, more mature, austere and more sensitive. Juri Camisasca - Te Deum 1988.
