The New America is also Bad Religion's last album with Bobby Schayer on drums. The album was re-released by Epitaph Records on September 15, 2008. Like its predecessor, none of the album's song would. If you like what you're hearing, Then support the artists and buy their music. No copyright infringement intended, I do not own anything. That may have kept them pure, but as they grew older, they wound up repeating many of their musical ideas, while losing some of their focus. Rundgren blends his talents as a pop maverick and a vital hard rock producer on The New America, pushing Bad Religion to strengthen their melodies and hooks without losing their edge. Following the release of the sub par album No Substance in 1998, Bad Religion went into the studio with Todd Rundgren, a long time poprock producer. On this fact alone, many fans of their earlier work Against the Grain, Suffer might not take to this albums catchy hooks and melody's straight away. After No Substance, which was said by many to be just another regurgitation of the now a tired punk genre, its not surprising that Bad Religion decided to take a new direction, which Rundgren would obviously provide. Greg Graffin : The only constant member of Bad Religion and thus the main driving force behind the band as well. Much of the bands accomplishments have rested on the shoulders of this man, who is arguably the most recognizable and well-known member of the group, known for his thought provoking lyrics and unique approach to singing. With Bad Religion slated to come out with a brand new album in October, with a brand new energetic drummer and a not-so-brand-new songwriterguitarist the return of Mr. Brett, I decided to review their last work. This was before the return of Brett Gurewitz although he did write one song on this album with Greg Graffin and this was when Bobby Schayer was still the drummer, and it was also their last release on a major label.
