However, the next four tracks rank among the Trail of Dead's best work: despite railing against vacuous celebrities, soccer moms, indie rock, and, of course, post-911 fallout and the war on terrorism, the emotions behind Worlds Apart are timeless along with the frustrated idealism of The Rest Will Follow, it's one of the band's finest anthems. Worlds Apart is an aspiration, an apology, the sound of confusion. The Interscope tag continues to be Trail of Dead's biggest asset and affliction: The label allows them the freedom to distance themselves from their past achievements, and access to Jimmy Iovine's in-house PR machine, which can win the interest of major media conglomerates, commercial radio and MTV but the band aims too high as a result, apparently convinced that they. Their version of the obscure Monkees song "The Porpoise Song" is refreshingly wonderful! I still prefer the original, but this group does a wonderful, and fresh take on it. This is a true keeper, so my copy of this is not for sale!
